The Helmut Veith Stipend for Female Scientists

The Helmut Veith Stipend is dedicated to the memory of an outstanding computer scientist who worked in the fields of logic in computer science, computer-aided verification, software engineering, and computer security. Helmut Veith, who tragically passed away in March 2016, was a strong advocate and mentor for women in computer science.

The first recipient of the Helmut Veith stipend is Mariëlle Rietdijk, and the stipend was presented to her on the 14th of March 2017 at 5:30 pm, in the Kuppelsaal of TU Wien.

The presentation of the award was followed by a Panel discussion with renowned scientists about diversity in STEM Studies on the topic “More female students in Computer Science. Who cares?”
